How To Use Your E-Collar For Training

1. Test Connectivity

Attach the test tool to the contact prongs of the receiver, press the mode button on the remote, confirm the indicator light activates. Do this for every modes to confirm it is working.

2. Fit The Collar

Adjust the strap so two fingers fit snugly between the strap and dog's neck. Contact points should sit flush against skin. Make it snug enough to hold contact, loose enough to not restrict. Trim fur underneath on thick or long coats so the connection stays reliable.

3. Check The LCD

Confirm which mode you're on - beep, vibration, or stimulation and what level it's set to. Do this before commencing your dog training sessions and know what you're about to deliver.

4. Correct Unwanted Behavior
(digging, chewing, jumping, barking,etc.)

Catch it as it starts. Beep first. If it continues, vibration. High-risk behavior (road, aggression), stimulation, start at low settings. The moment your dog stops the behavior, move straight to reward.

5. Build Recall & Control (off-leash distance, distractions, bolting)

Beep as your recall command. Moving away or distracted, vibration. Instinct winning and too far to recover (bird, squirrel, road), stimulation, starting low. The moment your dog turns and comes back, treat with reward.

6. Reward Immediately

Within a second or two of the correct response: stopping, redirecting, returning → reward. Any longer and your dog won't connect the correction to the outcome. This is what makes it training, not just interruption: correction stops the wrong behavior, reward teaches the right one.


Do Not:

  • Leave the collar on all day. May cause pressure soreness and skin irritation.
  • Start on a high level.
  • Use it on puppies less than 6 months old before basic obedience is established. (Teach recall and command first)
